Many of us have been launching on Product Hunt for a while, and more and more folks have started questioning whether the audience there is genuine and whether it is still worth launching on their platform.
Being fresh out of our latest launch from a month ago, I wanted to share here our first-hand experience and cover three main things:
- How does launching on Product Hunt look and feel today
- What we got from the launch
- How to make (the best) use of Product Hunt for your product

About us
Ranked #1 Product of the Day, How the Aha AI Agent Team Used Influencer Marketing to Ignite Their Growth Flywheel
While the global developers are still anxious about the fading of traffic opportunities, Aha AI agent team launched a marketing campaign on its own, and ranked #1 of the day for March 18th on their first launch. Even more exciting for the team is that Ryan Hoover, the founder of Product Hunt, personally leave a comment expressing his love and appreciation for us. Behind this phenomenal growth, 90% of the high quality conversions came from our influencer marketing matrix!

Additionally, the Aha product was a massive hit on launch day, bringing in way more traffic than we expected. The surge in user demand was so intense that it caused a “sweet meltdown” of our system. Six hours after launch, a huge number of North American companies simultaneously initiated AI Campaign requests, pushing our server load to 600% over its preset capacity. Our dev team had to be expanded urgently to ensure every user got a stable and efficient experience. This proved that our AI agent influencer marketing team is validated in the market, giving us an unprecedented boost in growth.

What we got
I’ve chatted to many teams, and some of them have been delaying the release of Product Hunt because they don’t feel like they’re “ready” yet. But honestly, in all that waiting, you’ve probably released it two or three times and gotten tons of real feedback from early users — which is actually the most valuable thing you can do for your product.
How We Got Featured by Product Hunt in Just 6 Hours
When we launched Aha on Product Hunt, we managed to get officially featured by PH in just six hours—and it wasn’t luck. It was the result of careful planning and perfect timing.
We knew Product Hunt’s audience is full of early adopters who love cutting-edge tech and fresh experiences. To grab their attention (and even get them to pay), we had to nail two things:
- Standout Differentiation (The Aha Moment) Visually, we went for a sleek, futuristic look. For UX, we obsessed over making everything ultra-smooth. But the real game-changer? We reinvented how AI agents express themselves. While competitors were bragging about cold, technical specs, our AI Agent felt like a real teammate—complete with a employee badge and emotional feedback.
- Clear Value Proposition We made sure users instantly understood Aha’s core promise: It delivers results, not just optimizes processes. We highlighted how it’s revolutionizing influencer marketing. No vague claims, just straight-to-the-point impact.
Once the strategy was set, our core team pulled off a 3-day sprint—parallel development, no downtime. From designing the AI Agent’s IP to full technical deployment, everything was locked in before launch day.
The resulting traffic
- Delivered $217K in campaign budgets within 24 hours
- Got over $1M+ high-intent leads waiting in the pipeline
- Creator content smashing industry benchmarks with 6.2x avg engagement

“The overall impression is that it feels like Lovable in the influencer marketing world. It’s all about enhancing efficiency and replacing manual labor. In the future, the role of influencer marketing may disappear, or at least not require as many people”, “I’m still on my way to create a campaign, but this service does decrease cognitive burden for marketing. I’m excited to see what this will bring about to my product!” Customers wrote in the Product Hunt comments section.
All this data and user reviews confirm:
First, Product Hunt remains a powerhouse for product launches and early feedback;
Second, our AI agent influencer marketing team, where conversions meet traffic, is how we’re building the new marketing blueprint.
Which channel works best
Here’s the hard truth about launch traffic, we’ve noticed that products usually see a huge spike in traffic on launch day, but it quickly drops off the very next day and stabilizes after about a week. Given this situation, figuring out how to effectively leverage Product Hunt’s momentum becomes crucial for solving the traffic challenge.
- The real value of Product Hunt isn’t just traffic, it’s credibility. After embedding a Product Hunt badge on our website, we saw sales conversions jump by 38%. This shows that the badge acts as a trust signal, helping reduce risk in customers’ decision-making processes.
- You can also flip Product Hunt’s hype effect to your advantage. For example, start a LinkedIn campaign with catchy topics on launch day, like “Why is this #1 Product Hunt tool keeping CMOs awake at night?” This way, you turn platform momentum into shareable social content.
- Create a metric for influencer effectiveness. Don’t just chase follower counts blindly. For instance, we found that a niche marketing-growth influencer with just 8,600 followers generated 1.7x marketing qualified leads (MQL) than a general influencer with 3.8 million followers.
We tried a few different methods and channels but found that: influencer marketing > social interaction > self users > PH ads
- Engage in communities like LinkedIn, Twitter, Discord & Telegram
The whole team (2 persons) was messaging people on Telegram, Linkedin, WhatsApp chat rooms. If a person was interested, they and their team supported us, and we supported their launch. It’s not easy and takes time, so you need to start now. We ended up getting around 300 upvotes this way.
While this brought some attention, it also attracted a lot of people asking “Hey, wanna buy some upvotes?”, which wasn’t great for our product. Our team spent a huge amount of time and energy on this approach, so it’s probably not the best strategy overall. But if your team has enough people to handle it, this might actually be the cheapest option.
- Run ads on Product Hunt
We also tried running a $5,000 ad campaign on Product Hunt for 14 days. In the end, we only got about 39K impressions (just 27% of what was estimated) and 217 clicks. Although the ad impressions looked nice at first glance, but the click-through rate (CTR) was pretty low, and there are definitely some lose with conversion from click to upvote. So the results weren’t as good as we hoped.

- Reach out through our own socials and cold emails
We share updates on our social media like Twitter, LinkedIn, and instagram, then send email to our users. These posts include key product details and clear calls-to-action to drive engagement.
- When prepping for our PH launch, our AI agent team was all-in from day one. Think of it as our MVP teammate hands-on in every step :)
While most teams obsess over PH launch tactics, we bet big on influencer marketing from Day 1 — precisely to test our core belief: “If our non-marketing team can master this, anyone can”.
Our AI Agent automatically generates campaign briefs and selectively targets industry influencer and niche influencers that align with our product’s vibe (like marketing experts and AI tool enthusiasts). We activate their private traffic through a tiered collaboration model. By using UTM link and customer forms, we tracked the traffic and conversion effects from influencer shares to the Aha product page on Product Hunt. The ongoing efforts of 47 influencers brought in around 800 quality upvotes and a ton of targeted users. Even 60 days later, the initial group of 35 influencers continues to bring in related customers.

In the end, our experience has shown that influencer marketing is still the most effective and measurable channel for conversions. By inviting influential creators to share and review our product, and leveraging the buzz from Product Hunt, we’ve successfully boosted brand awareness and helped more target customers discover and understand Aha. This kind of promotion, built on trust and awareness, is definitely the most efficient way to break through traffic bottlenecks.
Post-launch Actions: Sustaining Momentum
After the initial excitement of Aha’s launch, we focus on sustaining momentum and leveraging the exposure that Product Hunt brought. Here’s how:
- Leverage Increased TrafficUse the surge in traffic to drive conversions with clear CTAs on your site. Keep visitors engaged by bringing them back with reminders about new feature updates and other activities.
- Maximize SEO GainsProduct Hunt’s backlinks can boost your site’s authority. Based on this, Aha AI agent team allow the conversion efficiency of influencer content to be increased by 340%, so that the content can achieve a wider viral spread on social media.
- Build on PR OpportunitiesUse your Product Hunt ranking to secure interviews and collaborations with influencers and media outlets.
